The 2026 Seoul Museum of Art calendar features a selection of the museum’s recently acquired works. It was designed not merely as an object to keep track of the days of the year, but as an invitation to appreciate one artwork each month, allowing art to naturally seep into everyday life. Each month’s featured work becomes a personal exhibition of sorts, and the pleasure of viewing these works will hopefully open up an expanded way of seeing and sensing the world around us.
This calendar brings together twelve stories told by twelve different artists. Reflecting the disparate perspectives through which they illuminate our shared world, these works embody the Seoul Museum of Art’s artistic practice, which is aimed at diversity and inclusivity. As you turn each page and encounter a new work, may the warmth of the contemporary art conveyed by the museum infuse your life and lead to a fulfilling year ahead.

2026년 서울시립미술관 달력은 최근 수집한 소장작품으로 구성하여 선보입니다. 단순한 날짜 기록을 넘어, 새로운 달을 맞이할 때마다 작품 한 점을 자연스럽게 감상하며 일상 속에 예술이 스며드는 시간을 느낄 수 있도록 기획했습니다. 매달 이어지는 작품들은 ‘나만의 작은 전시’가 되고, 작품을 감상하는 즐거움은 세상을 마주하는 확장된 시선과 감각을 열어 줄 것입니다.
이번 달력에는 12명의 작가가 들려주는 열두 가지 이야기가 담겨 있습니다. 우리가 마주한 세계를 다채로운 시선으로 비추는 이 작품들은 다양성과 포용성을 지향하는 서울시립미술관의 또 다른 예술적 실천입니다. 달력을 넘기며 작품을 만나는 매 순간, 미술관이 전하는 동시대 예술의 온기가 시민의 삶에 스며들고 풍요로운 한 해로 이어지길 바랍니다.

Design Note
Comprising 12 newly acquired works from the collection, this calendar steps away from the standard desk calendar (1:1 image-to-date format). We harmoniously organized detail shots and artwork descriptions to allow for a more engaging view of the works while ensuring comfortable usability.
The visual concept draws inspiration from the Year of ‘Byeong-O’—interpreted as the ’Red Horse’ and ‘Midday Sun’ in the Asian zodiac. We captured this meaning using sun motifs and a red color.
The typeface ‘Axo’ complements SeMA’s geometric identity, creating a balance of structural stability and a lively impression.

2026년 병오(丙午)년이 상징하는 ‘정오의 태양’과 ‘붉은 말’에서 착안하여, 빨간색과 태양을 모티프로 한 그래픽을 활용했습니다.
서체 ‘Axo’는 기하학적인 구조의 SeMA 아이덴티티와 만나 안정적인 구조감과 경쾌한 인상을 만들어냅니다.
